Waziri wa Afya Wafula Nakhumicha amesema Kenya imeomba msaada kutoka Tanzania ili kukabiliana na uhaba wa dawa za Kifua Kikuu nchini humo.
Waziri huyo amesema nchi imekumbwa na uhaba tangu Oktoba mwaka jana na imechukua hatua za kuhakikisha usambazaji endelevu kwa hospitali za serikali ikiwa ni pamoja na mabadiliko kutoka kwa msambazaji mmoja hadi wasambazaji wengi.
“Mwishoni mwa mwezi Septemba na Oktoba mwaka jana tulikuwa na uhaba wa dawa za Kifua Kikuu, lakini tulijitahidi kwa kiasi ambacho tulipata msaada kutoka nchi jirani ya Tanzania na tulipata akiba ya kutosha ambayo sasa imesambazwa,” amesema.
Waziri Nakhumicha amesema Serikali inajitahidi kuhakikisha kuwa hifadhi yake ya dawa ni ya kutosha na hakuna mgonjwa atakayekosa dawa zake.
Amesema hadi mwisho wa Januari, hospitali zote za umma zitakuwa zimepokea dawa hizo.
