“Kwenye sekta ya habari na utangazaji, falsafa ya “4Rs” za Mheshimiwa Rais Samia Suluhu Hassan, alizozibainisha baada ya kuingia madarakani mwezi Machi 2021, imetekelezwa kwa vitendo hususani kwenye eneo la “Reforms” (Mageuzi),” amesema Waziri Mkuu na kuongeza;
“Serikali ya Awamu ya Sita katika kutekeleza falsafa hii imechukuwa hatua mbalimbali kuimarisha sekta ya habari na utangazaji nchini kwa kuunda chombo kipya cha kushughulikia usajili wa taaluma ya waandishi wa habari yaani Bodi ya Ithibati”.
Waziri Mkuu Majaliwa amesema Bodi ya Ithibati ya Waandishi wa Habari iliyozinduliwa mwaka huu ina jukumu la kusimamia viwango vya kitaaluma kwa wanahabari ikiwa ni hatua ya utekelezaji wa matakwa ya kisheria chini ya Sheria ya Huduma za Habari, Sura ya 229.
Amesema hatua nyingine zilizochukuliwa na Serikali ni kuhakikisha inawezesha shirika la Habari la utangazaji kuwepo kisheria pamoja na kuimarisha Idara ya Habari Maelezo kwa kununua vitendea kazi vikiwemo Magari na vifaa vya kurushia matangazo mbashara.
Aidha, Waziri Mkuu Majaliwa amesema kauli mbiu ya maadhimisho hayo kwa mwaka huu inayosema “Uhabarishaji kwenye Dunia Mpya: Mchango wa Akili Mnemba katika uhuru wa vyombo vya habari” inalenga kujadili athari za teknolojia ya akili mnemba katika uendeshaji wa vyombo vya Habari na uhuru wake.
Amesema Serikali katika kuhakikisha Akili Mnemba (AI) inatumika kwa njia inayowezesha badala ya kudhibiti uhuru wa vyombo vya habari, imeanzisha mchakato wa kuandaa sera maalum ya AI na waandishi wanaowajibu wa kuchangia ili kupata sera nzuri.
“Sera hii itatoa mwongozo wa matumizi ya AI katika vyombo vya habari, ili kuhakikisha kwamba teknolojia mpya zinaendana na misingi ya uhuru wa vyombo vya habari, uwazi, na uadilifu wa uandishi wa Habari, hivyo mtumie muda wenu hapa kujadili na kutoa mapendekezo yatakayosaidia kuboresha sera hiyo,” amesema Waziri Mkuu.
